This is a fruit-forward Pinot Noir with flavors of red cherry, currant and fresh raspberries. The 2012 vintage provides a medium body, fine, matured tannins, a rich mid-palate and a spicy finish.
Secluded in the Southwestern end of Salinas Valley resides a vineyard on the Arroyo Seco River. The extreme mountains to the west protect the vineyard from intense winds, common to the valley, and the river moderates the climate so that this delicate cultivar receives quite cool, ideal growing conditions.
The wine was cool fermented is small lots and aged in new and neutral French and Hungarian oak barrels.
