2020 Darcie Kent Firepit Red

Its time to warm up around our favorite firepit- and with our favorite Firepit wine! Distinguished by its original, Darcie Kent “tall label,” this special blend of Firepit features a greater amount of Cabernet Sauvignon. In fact, this wine is over eighty percent Cabernet Sauvignon this year, with Petite Sirah filling out the remainder of the blend. Fans of last release’s Bing’s Barn and our beloved Madden Cabernets from the past, take notice! 

The 2020 opens with  aromas of blackberry pie, dried cranberry and fig, joined by star anise and chai spice. Winemaker Julian Halasz notes the wine’s subtle oak character and “fruit intensity” on the midpalate, further recalling nut husk, dried black fruit, cedar and root beer. These notes thrum through the finish, oscillating between dark fruit, cocoa and hazelnut.
