2021 Wine Without Borders Primitivo

Wine Without Borders strives to grow the world's most interesting wines, despite these varietals not being household names.

The Kent family grows the acid-driven "Bari" clone of Zinfandel, aka Primitivo, in a small block that borders their home. They also harvest the varietal much earlier than is typical of California Zinfandel, just like Apulian winemakers. The result is a wine that has both dark fruit flavors and bright, food-friendly acidity.

The 2021 vintage features vibrant aromas of black cherry, plum skin, and boysenberry. These are joined by flavors of mulling spices, concentrated black plum and ageworthy tannins on the palate. 

Since 2021, all Wine Without Borders wines have given back to Doctors Without Borders' relief efforts in Ukraine.
